2013 USTA Local Playoff Information

Captains,

Read this all the way thru! Here is your playoff schedule, attached in 2 formats and copied and pasted below. You must go by this schedule unless you hear otherwise from me. I do not anticipate any changes unless it rains. In case of rain, all teams need to be flexible and have your players ready to maybe play at different dates and/or times, and perhaps locations. GCC is Germantown Country Club. This is going to be partly a DIY (do it yourself) playoffs and different than you may have done in the past. I have 3 weeks of playoffs to run, morning and night and all day on the weekends. I cannot and will not be at all the matches. Scorecards will not be provided, bring your own line ups on paper just as you have all season. Exchange w/ the opposing captains on your own just like you have all season. Put yourselves on the courts and once the match is finished please record the scores asap!!! Winners typically do this but losers can if the winning captain has not done it. If you are not the captain that enters the score, then please go in and check for accuracy and confirm the scores. Balls for all matches will be at GCC, check in the pro shop. But please be sure each of your players brings a can of balls to the matches just in case no one is at the pro shop. You will be reimbursed with a can of balls for any balls you have to open yourself. The team that is listed first is considered the home team and that team will pick which courts at the assigned facility to play on if I am not there. All matches must be played as scheduled unless it rains and then I will determine the rescheduled date and time and location. There is no rescheduling of matches on your own!! I do plan to be at all the weekend matches to assure matches flow smoothly and stay on schedule. Evening matches are scheduled for 6:15pm to allow working ladies travel time but I encourage all players to get there before that time if possible to get play started. The earlier you start, the less you have to play in the dark. Please remember usta league play is a non-officiated league which means all issues are to be settled amongst the players on the court. NO coaching or help from spectators. Let me know if you have any questions. If you see any mistakes that I missed, let me know asap! You play each team once. BE A GOOD SPORT AND ENJOY!! One more thing: If a match is in progress at the site, your team cannot warm up at the site. For example, if there is a match still going on that started at 9am, then the 11am teams cannot warm up there at the site and so on for other times. Obviously if you are the first match or only match scheduled that day, you can warm up at the site
